I'm a complete beginner and not sure what I want to learn

A good starting point is an introduction to the computer itself - what the different parts of the computer are for, the keyboard and terminology.  The next step would be some tuition in using Word, this will show you how to type letters, print envelopes, and quick ways to minimise the amount of typing.  If using the Internet and E-mail are of interest, then this can be covered  as well.  Usually, a one day session will get you up and running.
